Taskforce Zoo holding flood resiliency celebration lunch

One year later and they’re still standing–so it’s time to celebrate.The Calgary Emergency Management Agency, Calgary Chamber of Commerce and the rest of the Business Recovery Taskforce are holding a luncheon at the Calgary Zoo starting at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.Mary Moran with Calgary Economic Development tells 660News things could have been much worse.“There were 4,000 citizens affected by the flood and Calgary fares pretty well, certainly in comparison to how other cities did in their results during the natural disaster,” said Moran. “So we were very fortunate–and a lot of that is just because of Calgarians helping Calgarians.”The Calgary Emergency Management Agency will also release a business continuity handbook to help companies deal with a natural disaster.
