first_imgThe ongoing pandemic, while painful, has also created vast fields of opportunity to develop new ways of thinking and new ways to provide virtual information and entertainment.Since the onset of the crisis, Pasadena’s Rose Bowl Stadium has been reaching out to fans by way of a new series—Rose Bowl LIVE, a virtual event held on the stadium’s YouTube and Facebook channels.In the latest event this Saturday, UCLA alum and LA Galaxy icon Cobi Jones, joins the Rose Bowl LIVE virtual event room at 4 p.m.If there was ever an American soccer icon, Cobi Jones comes closest.A participant in both the World Cup and the Olympics, as well as scoring the first-ever LA Galaxy goal in the Rose Bowl, the hall of famer will discuss his career with fans in the virtual chat room.Cobi Jones, who led the UCLA Bruins to the national championship in 1999, currently leads the United States in all-time appearances for soccer, appearing in 164 games in his career. He is also the first Major League soccer player to have his jersey retired.Jones is just the latest sports personality to grace the Rose Bowl virtual studio The series has hosted Rose Bowl legends Cade McNown, a former UCLA and NFL quarterback, women’s soccer legend Brandi Chastain, as well as women’s basketball icon Ann Meyers Drysdale.“We encourage guests to log on so they can ask questions,” said Rose Bowl Marketing Manager Sierra Kemp. “There’s a chat feature in each series, and viewers can ask questions throughout the program.”Viewers can also visit the site before the events, to register for free reminders and updates, along with direct links to Rose Bowl YouTube and Facebook channels.Rose Bowl LIVE airs this Saturday, May 30, at 4:00 p.m. You can sign up and watch the series here.
