Administration/Leadership30% Division Chair administration; leading, managing anddirecting the division by:• Recruiting, retaining, supervising, monitoring productivity, anddeveloping careers of faculty and staff in the division• Developing divisional strategic plan in conjunction withdepartment, health system, and School of Medicine• Collaborating with other departments, School ofMedicine/University, VCUHS hospitals and clinics, community/public,private partners to achieve the mission, vision, and goals• Assessing and setting goals for clinical teaching and academicproductivity; including research/scholarly activities• Developing and implementing creative and effective models ofinpatient care• Maintaining excellent integration with nursing, social work,etc.• Monitoring and managing inpatient volumes, throughput, andclinical care• Assisting the Department Chair with fund raising and developmentactivities and other administrative/leadership roles asapplicable• Maintaining and enhancing diversity2. Teaching20% teaching and teaching-related activities by:• Leading inpatient educational efforts for trainees• Preparing and presenting instructional materials, lectures, andevaluations• Integrating medical students, residents, fellows, and colleaguesin adult inpatient psychiatry and other colleagues whereappropriate• Monitoring and maintaining personal professional skills throughlocal and national continuing education, including attending andpresenting at Grand Rounds3. Research20% research activities:• Integrating individual research and/or developing researchactivities for the division4.
