Fun. Fans. Fantastic– Indian Premier League set to rock India again

first_imgIn a country where tolerance-intolerance, nationalist and anti-nationalists debates are on the rise, the latest TV commercials on the upcoming Indian Premier League 2016 season are so adorable that they make the viewers forget all the evils that they come across in the country these days. The latest TV ad is a carnival picturised on the big boys of world cricket from MS Dhoni to Lasith Malinga to Yuvraj Singh to Sunil Narine. The organisers have named this promo — Fun. Fans. Fantastic. They have been coming up with these fantastic TV commercials ahead of the cash-rich league. A few days back the organisers launched a campaign named — Ek India Happy Wala. The lyrics of this ad has been beautifully written, picturised and presented. The opening line of the ad starts with, Jahan darr ka nahin, nafrat ka nahin, bass jeet ka shor ho, ek India ho to aisa ho. Ek pyar wala, muskan wala, ho ek India happy wala. Since children are the antidote that cures a man’s anger, the director of this ad used kids to attract the attention of the TV viewers. Hundreds of school-going kids are seen running around the streets playing cricket, playing with colours and sharing flowers in different events to mellow down the wrath of angry people. Even though the IPL itself has been under the cloud for over a number of misdeeds from spot-fixing to money laundering, it has not stopped T20 cricket’s marquee league from enthralling the fans. No matter how hard it has been hit at,  the league has gone from strength-to-strength every year to entertain billions of fans across the world and once again it promises to be on the right path in the new season. Last year, the T20 league lost two of its most valuable and loved teams after they were suspended for two years due to corruption. But the organisers ensured that the league did not lose its steam when they named two new teams as replacement for the suspended ones.advertisementlast_img read more
