first_imgSt Eunan’s U16s celebrate their county title winST EUNAN’S U16 boys are county champions after upsetting the odds with a seven point win over Mac Cumhaills at St Mary’s Convoy this afternoon.Mac Cumhaills had won the northern final in the same competition a couple of weeks ago and were odds-on favourites to go on and land the all-county title. But a gritty and determined St Eunan’s won 3-11 to 1-10 in the end. And didn’t look like it was going to go that way as Mac Cumhaills raced into a 1-01 lead after just six minutes with Eunan’s yet to score. The black and amber boys stuck to their task though so that by half-time they trailed by just a single point as Mac Cumhaills led 1-04 to 0-06.But three magical goals in five minutes mid-way through the second half swung the game towards the Letterkenny lads and they never looked back. The crucial goals came from Oisin Purdy, Michael McGroary and Louis Hasson. Points: Hasson (0-02), Niall Hannigan (0-3, 2F), Matthew McGovern (0-02), Éoin McGeehin (0-02), Paddy McColgan (0-01) Eoin O’Boyle (0-01). ST EUNAN’S U16 BOYS UPSET THE ODDS TO LAND COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP was last modified: October 17th, 2015 by John2Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:county finalCounty Final PreviewMac CumhaillsSt Eunanslast_img
