first_imgLava’s subsidiary Xolo launched a new budget 4G LTE-capable phone, the Era 2X in the Indian market on Thursday. The Era 2X, which is successor to Era 1X, will be available for buying at a starting price of Rs 6,666 exclusively from online retail website Flipkart from January 9.Also Read: Xolo Era 2 smartphone to go on company’s first flash sale tomorrow The Xolo Era 2X, as per the company, is an entry-level phone and yet it focuses on value for money. The phone comes with an all-plastic body and a rear mounted fingerprint scanner. Presence of a fingerprint scanner in itself (at its price point) is being touted as a USP of the Era 2X. The fingerprint scanner onboard the phone will enable security as well as serve a couple of more functions including tap to talk and tap to capture a photo. It can also be used to lock and unlock select apps, the company said. The phone is capable of registering up to five fingers to make all this possible. Each finger can then be assigned to perform each of the aforementioned tasks.The Era 2X comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display and is powered by a a 1.25GHz quad-core MediaTek processor clubbed with 2GB/3GB RAM and 16GB internal memory. The 3GB RAM variant of the phone will cost buyers Rs 7,499. The dualSIM 4G LTE (VoLTE-ready) phone runs Android Marshmallow software out-of-the-box. The rear camera is also capable of shooting time-lapse videos.
